HOW FAR IS V6? (%)

We're planning an update before the end of the year. We've decided on integrating the current version in to V6, which basically means we're taking a phased approach rather than a big bang approach.  This will mean there will be several releases over several months to end up with V6. This is not just bug fixing, this is additional /improved features. Rosco

One question that worries me.

We can all agree that the forums are not great.  I expect in V6 that these will be changed.

Are we likely to lose what is in our current forums?

Our clan is pretty busy on the posting crap front and I am worried we will lose all the contents of the forums.

What is the likelyhood of this?

It is very unlikly we will lose our posts because it is all on a database. All they are doing is updating how you post etc so they will just import the database again and it will all return

You won't loose everything. One issue that we're keen to avoid and fits in with our phased approach now. Rosco

So let me get this straight, v6 is no more, just 5.6 which will be out before the end of the year.  Thats great news!  And what will we see, i hope its new forums, the ability to take the results and quick links away from the top.  Maybe the ability to post PNG files or just a major over haul of the themes.... ooooo I cant wait!

I understand the frustration, but look around.  I was with Clantoolz for over four years, and not only did they not update/change anything EVER, but it took them a week at least to respond to any customer service issues.  Then they would send you to their forums for FAQ's, which some of which were years old as well.  Yet they remain one of the top clansite hosts as well as (and, its more expensive).

I am just saying that, yes, some changes would be great and I cannot wait, but I think for the cost of these sites, and the fact that they are so easily maintained gives me reason to stick around.  Just think some are a bit harsh is all.

I am glad that they are saying some fixes by the end of the year though

Something that I would prob do now is both sack and shoot both of those people, then either give it to a 10 year old to recode you some new templates and forums, or give all the members FTP access so they can edit their own.  Excusess wearing very thin now Xippy!

Im annoyed about the lack of info as anyone but EoooDares you need to wise up and jog on.

You tell us everyday that you have a site with another company which you do so why dont you go away?
